Who came out on top?

On Saturday, 18 January our Winter League finalists battled it out over 18 holes at Royal Porthrush to determine the winner of the £450 first prize. The final was played in tricky conditions, but in good spirits between Leigh Lawton, Jack Redfern and Joe Abbotts.

It turned out to be a close battle as they were only separated by three shots, with Jack emerging as the eventual winner with a score of 38 points. Congratulations Jack!

The next Simulator Winter League starts this week and is a Better Ball format.

Fitting News

Great improvements from Titleist's visit...

On Sunday, we had the first fitting day of the season with Titleist on-site with all the heads and shafts you could imagine to give an expert fitting service.

Those that got fitted saw great improvements in ball flight, dispersions and overall consistency just by having the correct club to suit their individual swings.

Time to get excited

Whilst it's easy to think that the golf industry goes into hibernation during the winter months, it's actually one of the most exciting times of the year for us!

This week sees the PGA Show take place in Orlando, which is a huge four-day conference where golf brands large and small showcase their new product for the year ahead.

Last week we talked about one of our favourite topics: rain! Whilst waterproof protection is key for staying dry when caught in a downpour, combining layers of clothing underneath is vital if you want to enjoy the warmth without being so restricted that you can’t complete your backswing.

What do we mean by layering?

Lots of golfers are still in the habit of putting on as many layers as they possibly can in the winter to combat the cold – a vest, turtleneck, polo, sweater and jacket – but today’s golf clothing could easily cut that down by half.

What do we suggest?
